House Help Kills Employer After Two Days of Employment


A Nigerian House-help has been accused of killing a 38-year old female employer and her aged mother in surulere, Lagos
A 22-year-old houseboy called Joseph Ogbu has been accused of killing his female employer and her mother in surulere, Lagos. It was said that the house-help committed this crime two days after he was employed.

Following the incident which happened on Thursday 20th June, the 22-year-old Joseph  from Benue state was arrested by the police in respect to the murder.

According to the police public relations officer Bela Elkana,in her statement said that the Surulere police station received a distress call from No 4 Ogulana Drive, Surulere.

Reports said that Joseph Ogbu from Oju local government area, Benue state who was employed as a domestic staff on 18 June has murdered his employer Oreoluwa John who was 38 years old and her 89 year old mother Adejoke John at their apartment.

According to Bala the suspect confessed to his crime. He also made other revelations with regards to the case: "In his statement, he averred that his employer asked him to clean the house at about 9pm of 19th June, 2019 but an argument ensued between them, which prompted him to stab her with a knife. That the shock of the incident made her mother slumped and die"

He went ahead and moved some valuable properties such as electronics, handsets and other household items into the employer's Toyota camry car and attempted to escape before he was apprehended by the police on patrol at Ogunlana pin-down point. And all stolen items were recovered
